National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths investigating the October 2 blast in Burdwan, West Bengal, have found that calls were made to three people in Tamil Nadu from a phone found at the house where the explosion took place.
An NIA team from West Bengal flew down to Chennai and questioned the three people. Investigators, however, refused to divulge more information about the people and their links with the terrorists. Two people, believed to be members of a terror outfit, were killed in the blast.
NIA is also looking at the possible links between suspected ISI agent Arun Selvarajan, who was arrested in Chennai last month, and people involved the Burdwan blast. Some of the photographs recovered from the blast site were of installations in south India, which investigators suspect may have been taken by Selvaraj. NIA officials also denied the reports appearing in media that the West Bengal sleuths have not been cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
